7 Easy Ways to Honor Earth Day

Here are seven easy Earth Day activities you can do to show your support for our planet. When you include friends or family (especially kids), it makes it even more special!

1. Go for a hike. Spend time in nature and appreciate all the Earth has to offer. Notice the details of the area and listen to the sounds that surround you.

2. Pick up trash. Litter not only looks bad, but it’s also harmful to the environment and wildlife. Taking a stroll around your neighborhood or local park and picking up litter is a great way to show Earth some love.

3. Plant a tree. Trees help to improve air quality, provide habitats for animals, and can even help to cool homes and neighborhoods, among many great benefits.

4. Read a children’s book that includes outdoor activities such as the Connect with Nature Series for kids and their families. Adults without kids also learn a lot from these books!

5. Make Earth Day crafts using items you would normally throw away, like eggshells or toilet paper rolls. Again, crafts are for adults too. Make something cool.
